The Enhancement and Expansion of the Limestone Plant in Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex, Kerman

In copper ore smelting, lime is used in the mineral flotation process to control the pH of the slurry. The limestone plant project in Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex mainly aimed at increasing the storage capacity and transfer of calcined lime to a lime milk preparation plant. Before this project, the calcined lime used to be stored in bulks in an open depot near the former lime storage unit. The high lime consumption in the copper concentration process (about 3 kg per ton of feed) and the role of lime in this process increased the importance of the lime storage capacity in the Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex after the launch of the expansion phases. Therefore, the construction not only eliminated the problem of the open depot but also increased the lime storage capacity by 1250 tons.
